Ask five agencies what a website costs and you will get five non-answers. The ranges below are the ones we actually quote in 2026 — in USD for US, UK, and European clients, and AED for the Gulf.
Two things worth saying before the numbers.
First, price is a function of scope, not geography. Offshore does not make a 200-hour build into a 40-hour build. It changes the rate, not the work. Anyone selling you a fixed price before understanding scope is guessing, and you will pay for that guess later in change requests.
Second, the cheapest quote is almost always the most expensive outcome. We rebuild two or three abandoned projects a year for clients who went with a $900 bid. The rebuild costs more than doing it once properly, because you pay for the archaeology as well as the build.
Marketing & Business Websites
$1,900 – $3,800 (AED 6,900 – 13,900)
Four to eight pages, responsive, CMS so you can edit copy yourself, contact forms wired to your inbox or CRM, analytics, and on-page SEO. Timeline: two to four weeks.
This is the right tier for a professional services firm, a clinic, a local brand, or a startup that needs a credible presence before fundraising. You are buying design quality and speed, not engineering complexity.
What pushes it toward the upper end: custom illustration or motion work, multi-language support, a blog with a real editorial workflow, or integrations with booking and payment systems.
Custom Websites & Web Applications
$7,500 – $19,000 (AED 27,500 – 69,500)
Fully custom UI with no template underneath, a design system, user accounts, dashboards, payments, third-party integrations, and an admin panel your team actually operates. Timeline: six to twelve weeks.
This is where most funded startups and established businesses land. The jump from the previous tier is not cosmetic — you are now paying for state management, permissions, data modelling, and the hundred edge cases that separate a demo from a product.
Mobile Applications
$19,000 – $45,000+ (AED 69,500 – 165,000+)
A cross-platform React Native or Flutter app with a custom backend, authentication, push notifications, payments, and an admin dashboard. Timeline: ten to twenty weeks.
Cross-platform is the default recommendation because it delivers iOS and Android from one codebase, typically at 60–70% of the cost of two native builds. Go native when you need heavy device APIs, serious offline sync, or performance that genuinely cannot be reached otherwise — and be honest about whether you do.
Add App Store and Play Store submission, review handling, and post-launch iteration to your budget. Shipping the binary is not the finish line.
Ongoing Work
$750 – $3,200/month (AED 2,750 – 11,900/month)
Maintenance covers dependency updates, security patches, uptime monitoring, backups, and a set allowance of change requests. Product retainers buy a fixed engineering capacity each month against an evolving roadmap.
Budget 15–20% of the original build cost annually if you want the thing to still be secure and fast in three years. Software is not a purchase, it is a tenancy.
What Actually Moves the Number
In rough order of impact:
Integrations. Every external system — CRM, ERP, payment gateway, shipping provider, legacy database — adds work that scales with how badly documented their API is. This is consistently the most underestimated line item.
Compliance. GDPR is usually manageable. HIPAA, SOC 2, or PCI change your architecture and can add 30–50%. Say this at the first call, not in week six.
Content readiness. Projects rarely stall on code. They stall waiting for copy, logos, and product photography. If you do not have content, budget for it or expect the timeline to slip.
Design ambition. A clean, well-executed standard layout is far cheaper than bespoke motion and illustration — and often converts better.
Decision speed. The single cheapest thing a client can do is name one decision-maker. Projects with a committee take longer and cost more, every time.
Where Offshore Genuinely Wins — and Where It Does Not
The honest version of this trade-off.
It wins on budget. A build that quotes at $25,000 with a mid-tier US or UK agency typically lands between $6,000 and $9,000 with a good India-based studio, for the same scope and stack. That is not a quality discount; it is a cost-of-living difference in the labour market.
It wins on seniority per dollar. At smaller studios there is no bench of juniors to absorb your budget. The people who scoped your project build it.
It does not win on in-person work. If your project needs frequent on-site workshops, physical user research, or a team embedded in your office, hire locally. We say this on calls and occasionally talk ourselves out of work with it.
It does not win if you cannot manage async. Offshore delivery depends on written communication and clear decisions. If your organisation only functions through hallway conversations, distributed delivery will be painful regardless of who you hire.
Timezone is a solvable problem, not a non-problem. From India, we hold a full working-day overlap with the Gulf and Europe, and a three-to-five hour morning overlap with the US East Coast. That is enough for daily contact if it is scheduled deliberately. Pretending timezones do not exist is how offshore projects fail.
Questions Worth Asking Any Agency
- What is explicitly out of scope? A good proposal is as clear about exclusions as inclusions.
- Who owns the code, and when? The answer should be "you, on final payment," with the Git repository transferred to your organisation.
- What happens if we stop halfway? Milestone billing means you pay for completed work and keep it. Large upfront payments mean you are financing their cash flow.
- Who is actually building this? Ask to meet them. Some agencies sell you seniors and staff juniors.
- What does month four look like? Anyone who has only thought about launch has not thought about your project.
A Note on Currency and Tax
We quote in your currency and invoice in it, so the number you agreed is the number you pay — you carry no exchange-rate risk mid-project.
Services exported from India against foreign currency are zero-rated under GST, so there is no Indian tax added to an international invoice. If an Indian vendor tries to add 18% GST to a USD invoice, ask them why.
The Short Version
Marketing site: $1,900–$3,800. Custom web app: $7,500–$19,000. Mobile app: $19,000–$45,000+. Ongoing: $750–$3,200/month.
Anything dramatically below those ranges is either much smaller in scope than you think, or is going to be rebuilt.
Our full tier breakdown, in your local currency, is on the pricing page. If you want a number for your specific scope, book a call — we will give you a range on the call rather than making you wait a week for a PDF.
