Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with us.

Working With Us Remotely

I'm in the US, UK, or the Gulf — how do we actually work together?

The same way we work with a client down the road, with the timezone planned around rather than ignored.
  • Overlap hours. We are on IST (UTC+5:30). That is a full working-day overlap with the Gulf and Europe, and a 3–5 hour morning overlap with the US East Coast. We hold meetings inside your business hours, not ours.
  • Async by default. Written updates, a shared board, and a weekly demo — so progress does not depend on catching each other live.
  • One point of contact. You get a named lead, not a rotating support queue.

Most overseas clients find the overlap is a feature: work lands overnight and is waiting when they start their day.

What currency will I be billed in, and how do I pay?

Prices on this site switch automatically to your region — USD internationally, EUR in Europe, GBP in the UK, AED across the Gulf, and INR in India. If you would rather be quoted in a different currency, just say so on the call and we will invoice in it.

We invoice by international bank transfer (SWIFT), and can accept card payments on request. Invoices are issued in the currency you were quoted in, so the number you agreed to is the number you pay — you are not exposed to rupee movement mid-project.

On tax: services exported from India against foreign currency are zero-rated, so there is no Indian GST added to your invoice. Indian clients are billed with 18% GST as normal.

Why hire an India-based studio instead of a local agency?

Cost is the obvious answer, but it is the least interesting one. The honest version:
  • Budget goes further. A build that quotes at $25,000 with a US or UK agency typically lands in the $6,000–9,000 range with us, for the same scope and stack.
  • You get senior people on your project. At our size there is no bench of juniors to hide behind — the people who scoped your work are the people who build it.
  • Modern stack, not legacy outsourcing. React, Next.js, React Native, Flutter, Cloudflare. This site is our own work; run it through PageSpeed if you want a sample.

Where a local agency genuinely wins: if you need frequent in-person workshops or on-site discovery, hire locally. We will tell you that on the call rather than after the contract. If you want the fuller comparison of offshore, nearshore, and onshore delivery, we've written it up.

Do you only work with US clients, or also Canada, the UK, and the Gulf?

Yes — the US is not a special case for us, it is just the market we write the most about. We run the same delivery model for clients in Canada, the UK, and the UAE/GCC:
  • Invoicing in your currency (CAD-equivalent via USD, GBP, or AED)
  • Hosting in the region you need it, including UK/EU data residency
  • Meetings inside your business hours, not ours

Browse the regions we serve for the specifics that apply to your market, or just tell us where you're based on the call — we adjust the paperwork, not the quality of the build.

Are you GDPR compliant? Where does our data live?

Yes, and hosting location is a decision we make with you rather than a default.
  • Data residency. We deploy to the region you require — EU (Frankfurt/Dublin), UK, US, or the UAE. If your data must not leave the EU, it does not.
  • DPA. We will sign a Data Processing Agreement, and act as processor with you as controller.
  • Build practice. Consent-first analytics, cookie controls, data-deletion paths, and encryption in transit and at rest as standard rather than as an add-on.

For healthcare or payments work, tell us early — HIPAA, PCI, and SOC 2 change architecture decisions, and they are much cheaper to design for than to retrofit. Our data residency guide and compliance-readiness guide go deeper on both.

How do you handle contracts, NDAs, and disputes across borders?

Every project starts with a written agreement covering scope, deliverables, timeline, payment milestones, IP assignment, and confidentiality. We sign your paperwork if your company has its own MSA or NDA template — we do not insist on ours, and we're happy to sign an NDA before we discuss anything sensitive.

Payment is milestone-based rather than fully upfront, so neither side is carrying all the risk. A typical split is 40% to start, 30% at an agreed midpoint, and 30% on delivery. If a project stops early, you pay for completed milestones and keep the work produced to that point.

We are happy to work under your governing-law and jurisdiction clause for cross-border contracts. If you're evaluating us against other offshore options, our guide to hiring an offshore team covers the due-diligence questions worth asking any vendor, including us.

Pricing & Contracts

Do you charge fixed-price or hourly?

Fixed-price for defined scope, which is most work. You approve a scope document and a number, and that number does not move unless you change the scope. No hourly surprises.

Monthly retainer for ongoing product work where the roadmap evolves — you get a set capacity per month and re-prioritise as you learn.

We avoid pure time-and-materials billing. It rewards us for being slow, which is the wrong incentive for both of us. If your scope genuinely cannot be pinned down yet, we will propose a short paid discovery to define it, then quote fixed against the result.

How much do your services actually cost to get started?

It depends on the service, so here are real starting points rather than a vague "it depends":
  • Website / web app: from $4,500
  • Custom software: from $25,000
  • Mobile app: from $35,000
  • UI/UX design: from $6,500
  • Branding & identity: from $3,500
  • Website redesign: from $7,000
  • E-commerce store: from $49/mo, or $1,900 one-time

These are starting points for the smallest sensible scope, not the average project. See the full breakdown on our pricing page or browse every service — every listing shows a starting figure in your currency. A fixed number for your project follows a short discovery call.

What is a Growth & Revenue Diagnostic, and is the fee wasted if we don't continue?

It's a paid, two-week audit rather than a free sales call in disguise: we trace your full funnel, measure your speed-to-lead, and build a revenue-leak model showing what slow follow-up or a broken step is actually costing you, ending in a 90-day roadmap. Starts at $2,500.

The fee isn't sunk if you move forward. 100% of it is credited toward any engagement you start with us within 30 days of the diagnostic — so the honest way to think about it is a paid second opinion that becomes free the moment it turns into work. See what a diagnostic actually finds or the service page for the full scope.

What's your refund and cancellation policy?

You can cancel a project with no cost if you do it early: submit a cancellation request within 7 days of the initial agreement or payment, before work has commenced, and it's refunded in full.

Once work has started, we don't offer refunds for that milestone — this is why payment is split across milestones (see below) rather than taken fully upfront, so you're never paying in advance for work not yet done. An approved refund is credited to your original payment method within 6–7 business days. The full policy is on our refund policy page.

Do you offer monthly retainers, or only one-off project pricing?

Both, depending on whether the work is a defined build or an ongoing function.
  • Maintenance & DevOps: from $1,200/mo
  • Performance marketing (Meta/Instagram ads): from $3,200/mo
  • Social media management: from $1,900/mo
  • Local business growth (SEO, reviews, local ads): from $1,500 + $700/mo

Builds — websites, apps, custom software — are fixed-price. Anything that runs continuously (ads, content, monitoring) is a retainer, because that's what the work actually looks like month to month.

How does the payment schedule work across a project?

Milestone-based, not fully upfront and not invoiced only at the end — a typical split is 40% to start, 30% at an agreed midpoint, and 30% on delivery. That way neither side is carrying all the financial risk on a project that could run for months.

If a project stops early for any reason, you pay only for the milestones already completed, and you keep everything built to that point — see the ownership question below.

Services We Offer

What services does Qudelta Studios offer?

We group everything we do into five areas — the full, current list is always on the services page, filterable by your business stage:
  • Development: custom software, web & mobile apps, backend engineering, maintenance & DevOps, e-commerce, infrastructure & compliance
  • Design & Strategy: UI/UX design, branding & identity, product strategy
  • Growth & Marketing: video & content, social media management, performance marketing, local business growth (SEO, reviews, local ads)
  • AI & Automation: AI voice & chat agents, AI content production systems, funnel & CRM build-outs, GoHighLevel setup
  • Strategic Engagements: the Growth & Revenue Diagnostic, and white-label delivery for agencies

If what you need isn't clearly one of these, ask anyway — most projects are a mix of two or three.

Custom software vs off-the-shelf — which is better?

Off-the-shelf (Zoho, Tally, Shopify) works when your processes match what the tool was built for. It's faster and cheaper upfront.

Custom software wins when you have unique workflows, need integrations with existing systems, or want features competitors can't copy. Most growing businesses hit this wall within 1–2 years of using generic tools.

Read our build vs buy guide for a detailed comparison.

Can you build AI voice or chat agents that answer calls and book appointments?

Yes — this is one of our most-requested builds. AI agents that answer calls, chat, and SMS around the clock, qualify leads, and book appointments before a human needs to step in, with a path to a real person offered in every conversation on request. Starting at $3,000 + $500/mo.

It's especially common in appointment-driven businesses — dental practices, med spas, and eye clinics — where a missed call is a lost patient. Our cost guide breaks down what actually drives the price, or see the full service details.

What is GoHighLevel, and do I need it if I already use a different CRM?

GoHighLevel (HighLevel) is a CRM and marketing automation platform popular with agencies, coaches, and service businesses because it bundles pipelines, funnels, calendars, and automated follow-up in one place. We implement it — account and snapshot setup, pipelines, forms, calendars, automations, integrations, migration from your old system, and training — starting at $1,600. We are not an official HighLevel partner or reseller; we just build on it a lot.

Whether you need it depends on what your current CRM is missing. If leads already get tagged, routed, and followed up automatically, you may just need a funnel rebuild instead of a platform switch. Our GoHighLevel vs HubSpot comparison is a good starting point if you're deciding between platforms.

Do you help with local SEO and Google Business Profile, or only build websites?

Both. A website that nobody finds on Google doesn't do much, so Local Business Growth is its own service: Google Business Profile and local SEO, AI-assisted review generation, and Local Service Ads management, built for single- and multi-location service businesses that live or die by local search. Starting at $1,500 + $700/mo.

If you want the mechanics of what actually moves local rankings first, our local SEO guide walks through it.

Do you build custom online stores, or just basic e-commerce sites?

Both, and which one you need depends on where you are:
  • E-commerce Solutions: a standard, fast-to-launch store — Shopify/WooCommerce, payment gateways, inventory sync, order management. From $49/mo or $1,900 one-time.
  • E-commerce Scale-Up: for stores that have outgrown a template theme and a handful of apps — custom builds, platform migration, Klaviyo lifecycle marketing, ERP/3PL integration. From $8,000 + $500/mo.

For e-commerce and D2C brands specifically, see our case study on Panun Store, a Kashmiri e-commerce platform we built end to end.

Do you offer white-label development for agencies?

Yes — for agencies and consultancies that need more delivery capacity than they have. We build and ship under your brand, with no client contact on our side and a mutual NDA and non-solicit in place, so your client relationship stays yours.

This is quoted per agency based on the capacity you need, typically from $2,500 + $12,000/mo. See the service details or just reach out to talk through your delivery gap.

Project Process

How do I start a project with Qudelta?

Just reach out through our contact form, email, or Instagram. We'll schedule a call, understand your requirements, and share a proposal with:
  • Scope of work
  • Timeline
  • Pricing
  • Deliverables

Once approved, we begin onboarding immediately.

How do you figure out which service is actually right for us?

Instead of leading with a catalog of 20 services, we start from where your business actually is:
  • Just an idea — nothing built yet, needs validation and a plan before production work
  • Existing offline business going online — needs a website and a way to sell online
  • Online business trying to grow — live already, but traffic, followers, or sales are under-performing
  • Getting traction, need to scale — demand is real, systems and team need to keep up
  • Established business modernizing — aging systems that need upkeep or a rebuild

The services page filters by exactly these stages, so you see the two or three services relevant to you rather than everything we offer. If you're still unsure, say so on the call — that's a normal starting point, not a problem to solve before calling.

What technologies do you use?

We choose the best tool for each project rather than one stack for everything. Common ones:
  • React, Next.js
  • Node.js, Express
  • Flutter / React Native
  • Figma for design
  • Firebase, Supabase, MongoDB, MySQL
  • Cloudflare for hosting, CDN, and infrastructure

We can adapt to a specific tech stack if your team already has one you need us to work within.

How do revisions work?

Each project includes a defined number of revision cycles, agreed upfront in the scope document — not an open-ended "unlimited revisions" that never actually ships. If extra revisions are needed beyond that, they're added at an agreed cost rather than a surprise. We always work toward the final output matching what was agreed.

Can you redesign or improve my existing website or app?

Absolutely — this is a dedicated service, not an afterthought. Website Redesign starts with a UX audit, then a modern UI refresh and speed/conversion optimization, from $7,000. Where the underlying code is the real constraint rather than the design, we'll say so and scope a rebuild instead of polishing something that will hit the same ceiling again.

Who owns the code and the IP when the project ends?

You do — fully, on final payment. That includes the source code, the repository history, the design files, and any accounts we set up on your behalf.

We hand over the Git repository under your organisation, not a zip file. There is no proprietary CMS, no license you have to keep renewing, and no dependency on us to make changes later. If you want to move to another team afterwards, nothing in the handover stops you.

We ask only for the right to show the work in our portfolio, and we drop that too if you would rather we did not, or if there is an NDA in place.

After Launch & Support

What happens after launch — and what if something breaks?

Every project includes a 30-day post-launch window where anything that does not match the agreed scope is fixed at no cost. That is a defect warranty, not a support plan.

Beyond that we offer monthly maintenance covering dependency and security updates, uptime monitoring, backups, performance checks, and a set allowance of change requests. Plans are optional — you own the code and can maintain it in-house or hand it to anyone else.

We also document the deployment and hand over a runbook, so a future developer is not reverse-engineering how the thing ships.

Do you offer ongoing maintenance, and what does it cover?

Yes. Maintenance & DevOps plans start at $1,200/mo and cover:
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Security audits and patches
  • 24/7 uptime monitoring
  • Performance optimization and bug fixes

This is optional, not a requirement to keep your ownership of the code intact — see the ownership question above.

What if I need changes or new features after the project is completed?

We're always happy to help. Post-launch changes can be:
  • Covered under a maintenance plan, or
  • Charged separately, depending on the scope

Simple tweaks are quick; major updates may require a separate estimate.

Do you provide hosting, domain setup, and compliance support for regulated industries?

Yes, on two levels. Every project includes help with hosting setup, domain configuration, and deployment. For businesses in regulated territory — healthcare, payments, or enterprise procurement — Infrastructure & Compliance adds managed hosting and monitoring, incident response, security audits, and SOC 2/HIPAA readiness including BAA support. Starting at $600 + $300/mo.

If you're not sure whether you need this yet, our compliance-readiness guide explains what typically triggers the requirement.

What happens to our data and access if we ever want to leave or switch teams?

Nothing is held hostage. Because you own the repository, the design files, and any accounts set up on your behalf from the moment of final payment (see the IP question above), leaving is a handover, not an extraction. Where practical, hosting and third-party accounts are set up under your own organisation rather than ours from day one.

We hand over deployment documentation and a runbook alongside the code, specifically so a new team isn't starting from zero. This is also why we avoid proprietary CMSs or platforms that only we can operate.

Kashmir & Local Businesses

How do I choose an IT company in Kashmir?

Five things to check before hiring any software company in Kashmir:
  • Portfolio of real, live projects — not mockups
  • Transparent pricing with no surprise fees
  • Clear communication and defined revision policy
  • You own the final code and designs after payment
  • Post-launch support and maintenance options

Read our full guide or see our work.

Are you a software development company near me?

Yes — Qudelta Studios is based in Kashmir. We work with local businesses across the valley and serve remote clients in the US, UK, UAE, and Europe.

Contact us for a free consultation, or visit our Google Maps listing linked on the contact page.

Who is Qudelta Studios best suited for?

We work with:
  • Startups
  • Small & medium businesses
  • Enterprises
  • Creators and personal brands
  • NGOs and community projects

Whether you're building from scratch or improving your product, we adapt to your needs.

Do you only take on large projects, or also help small local businesses go digital?

Small local businesses are a regular part of our work, not an exception we make. If you run a real, existing business and just need a website and a way to sell or take bookings online, that is literally one of the five stages our services page is organised around — "existing offline business going online" — and it's priced accordingly, not at enterprise rates.

Our piece on digital growth for small businesses in Kashmir covers what a first, sensible investment usually looks like.
